60 houses are being built for faculty in Srinagar Medical College at a cost of Rs 11 crore.

Car parking will be made in the ground floor of Transit Hostel.

To provide housing for the faculty at Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Government Medical College, Srinagar, transit hostels are being constructed on the premises of the medical college and the base hospital. Initiated by the Minister of Medical Health and Medical Education, Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, the construction of 60 accommodations at an approximate cost of ₹11 crore has commenced for both campuses.

In the medical college premises, 45 accommodations are already being built at a cost of approximately ₹8.50 crore.

In the base hospital premises, construction of a transit hostel with 15 accommodations began two months ago, with a budget of ₹2.45 crore.

Both campuses will have parking spaces on the ground floor.

Additionally, housing for nursing officials and other staff will soon begin on land acquired in Koteshwar Dam GVK Colony.

Faculty members have expressed gratitude to the Minister of Medical Health and Medical Education for the initiative to construct the transit hostels.
