Mohit Uniyal openly expressed his views on ticket distribution for the Doiwala and Dehradun Municipal Corporation elections. He emphasized that only those who live among the people and raise public issues deserve tickets.
In the “Hum Bharat Ke Log” program, Mohit Uniyal stated that priority should be given to those who work among the people and for the people, rather than those who suddenly demand tickets during elections. He remarked, “Politics is not a means of earning income; it is volunteerism aimed solely at addressing public issues by staying among the people. Politics is not limited to elections; its primary purpose is to serve the public.”
Currently serving as the Dehradun District President of Congress, Mohit Uniyal began his journey in student politics with the Congress. Over nearly two decades of his political career, he has held significant responsibilities for NSUI and Youth Congress across the country. He has served as the in-charge of the Youth Congress in nine states and led student union elections for NSUI at prominent universities, including Delhi University.
Having walked more than 6,500 kilometers as part of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, Mohit Uniyal reflects on the current political scenario, saying, “Politics is not about contesting elections; it is about working for the people, addressing their issues, and providing them relief. Unfortunately, politics has now become synonymous with gaining power.”
