Deepak Kaul has been elected as the Secretary (Staff Side) of the Joint Staff Council of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi, representing 108 ICAR institutes across the country. Deepak Kaul, a Technical Officer at the ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation (IISWC), Dehradun, has secured this position for the third consecutive time.
For the Secretary (Staff Side) position in the Joint Staff Council of ICAR, New Delhi, two candidates from various institutes had filed nominations. According to the election results declared late on January 6, 2025, Deepak Kaul, Technical Officer at ICAR-IISWC, Dehradun, emerged victorious for the third consecutive term.
He defeated his nearest rival, Ramchandra Pradhan, Assistant Administrative Officer from Umiam, Meghalaya, in a one-sided election. Deepak Kaul secured 77 out of 95 valid votes, enhancing the pride of Dehradun and Uttarakhand. Employee representatives Mukesh Kumar, Vishal Kumar, and others were also present on the occasion.
