Medal decoration for meritorious services to police officers in Republic Day celebrations

The Governor hoisted the National Flag and took the grand parade salute at the main function held at the Parade Ground.

On the 75th anniversary of Republic Day, Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd.) hoisted the national flag and took the salute at the grand parade during the main Republic Day ceremony held at Parade Ground.

During the event, Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd.) and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami honored police officers with medals for their commendable services.

The Uttarakhand Information Department presented a tableau related to the 38th National Games, along with captivating tableaus from the Women Empowerment & Child Development Department, Rural Development Department, Tourism Department, Horticulture Department, Education Department, Health Department, Forest Department, Industries Department, and Sanskrit Education Department, showcasing various programs, schemes, and policies.

In the tableau competition, the Information Department secured the first position, the Sanskrit Education Department came second, and the Education Department secured third place. These departments were honored by the Governor and the Chief Minister.

The grand parade featured contingents from the 14th Dogra Regiment Army, CRPF, ITBP, Himachal Police, 40th Battalion PAC, 40th Battalion Women’s Squad, Uttarakhand Home Guards, Provincial Guard Force, NCC Boys, NCC Girls, Cavalry Unit, Police Communications, Fire Brigade, and CPU.

Among the parade contingents, CRPF secured the first position, the 14th Dogra Regiment Army took second place, and the 40th Battalion Women’s PAC Unit secured third place. These teams were honored by the Governor and the Chief Minister.

On this occasion, the Governor stated that India has set a goal to become a developed nation by the centenary year of independence in 2047, and the country is moving rapidly in this direction. Uttarakhand is also contributing significantly to the nation’s development journey. With the efforts of the state government and the hard work of the people, Uttarakhand is not only achieving new milestones in economic and social development but is also progressing towards becoming one of the leading states in the country.

On the occasion of the 76th Republic Day, 10 officers/employees were awarded medals for their outstanding service. Additionally, 8 officers/employees of the state police force were honored with the Governor’s Distinguished Service Medal. The event also recognized the ITI Kashipur Police Station, Udham Singh Nagar, as the “State’s Best Police Station” for the year 2024 by the Union Home Ministry of the Government of India.
