AIIMS Rishikesh’s heli ambulance service is becoming a lifeline in emergency situations.

The emergency helicopter ambulance service of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Rishikesh, is proving to be a lifeline for accident victims and critically ill patients. On Thursday evening, two severely injured individuals were rescued from Tehri and Rudraprayag districts and brought to the AIIMS Trauma Center via helicopter ambulance. One of the patients was discharged after necessary tests and treatment, while the other is still undergoing treatment.

During an acro festival held in Tehri district on Thursday evening, paragliding pilot Hardik Kumar from the Pratapnagar area sustained injuries. He was immediately transported to the AIIMS Trauma Center under the observation of Senior Nursing Officers Akhilesh Uniyal and Tarachand Verma via the helicopter ambulance. After a CT scan and other necessary examinations, the specialists treated the injured pilot, who was discharged from the hospital on Friday morning.

In another incident, a young woman who was severely injured after falling into a deep gorge in Rudraprayag was brought to AIIMS under the supervision of Nursing Officer Shashikant via helicopter ambulance. Her treatment is ongoing under the care of specialist doctors at the trauma center.

Dr. Madhur Uniyal, the nodal officer for the helicopter ambulance service, stated that the free helicopter ambulance service is available for trauma and other critically severe cases. District administration and the Chief Medical Officer’s office can be contacted for assistance in providing immediate high-level healthcare services.
