The country’s first air ambulance medical service, Sanjeevani, which began on Dhanteras (October 29), has already saved several lives. This service can be easily accessed 24/7 by calling the toll-free number 18001804278.
Additionally, the institute has introduced a WhatsApp number (9084670331) where details and medical reports of the concerned patient can now be sent.
The helicopter ambulance medical service of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Rishikesh, was inaugurated virtually by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Dr. Madhur Uniyal, the nodal officer of the heli-air ambulance medical service, shared that individuals in remote areas of the state facing health emergencies can now send their medical history or reports to this WhatsApp number for further assistance.
Executive Director of the institute, Prof. Meenu Singh, stated that this service plays a crucial role in saving lives. She also mentioned that the service can be availed through the District Magistrate or District Medical Officer of the respective area.
Who Can Avail Heli Ambulance Service
Rishikesh: According to Dr. Madhur Uniyal, nodal officer of the heli-ambulance service, the following individuals from remote areas of the state’s hilly districts can avail of this service:
- Those in critical condition due to accidents.
- Pregnant women in distress due to delivery complications.
- Patients suffering from brain stroke or heart attack.
- Individuals seriously injured from falling off cliffs.
- People gravely injured in attacks by wild animals or humans.
- Individuals stranded in adverse conditions in high-altitude Himalayan regions due to weather or geographical challenges.
- Those with severe injuries, amputations, or life-threatening conditions requiring immediate transportation to AIIMS.
