Chardham Yatra: 30 registration counters will be set up in Rishikesh and 20 in Vikasnagar

Passenger registration will be round-the-clock, proper arrangements will be made for operators and network: DM

In a high-level meeting held at the Rishiparna Auditorium, District Magistrate Savin Bansal and Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Singh reviewed the preparations for the upcoming Char Dham Yatra with officials from all concerned departments. The focus was on ensuring the smooth, convenient, and safe conduct of the pilgrimage.

Key Highlights of the Meeting:

🔹 Timely Completion of Arrangements

  • All departments were instructed to prioritize and complete their preparations on time.

  • The DM emphasized that fund constraints should not affect the arrangements. If any department requires additional budget, the district administration will provide support.

  • Departments were directed to submit their demands immediately.

🔹 Comprehensive Review of Facilities

  • Review included parking in Rishikesh and Vikasnagar, accommodation capacity, registration system, roads, drinking water, transport, food, and toilets.

  • Emphasis on traffic management, including diversions and kiosk points for smooth vehicular movement.

🔹 Enhanced Registration Facilities

  • Rishikesh to have 30 registration counters, Vikasnagar to have 20 counters.

  • Each counter to be staffed with two personnel, and strong network connectivity must be ensured.

  • 24/7 operation of counters and offline registration arrangements to ensure smooth pilgrim experience.

  • Pilgrims should not be forced to stay in tourist camps due to delays in the portal.

🔹 Pilgrim Amenities

  • Ensure proper accommodation, food, water, and sanitation at hotels, dharamshalas, gurudwaras, and transit camps.

  • Repair and construction work to be completed on time.

  • Health department to deploy doctors and ambulances, and issue a health advisory.

  • Adequate drinking water facilities including TTSPs, water ATMs, and tankers at holding areas and along the yatra route.

🔹 Traffic and Vehicle Regulation

  • Yatra vehicles permitted from 4 AM to 10 PM; goods vehicles from 10 PM to 4 AM.

  • Fitness checks and green cards to be issued to vehicles.

  • Manual trip card generation system to be ensured by tourism and transport departments in coordination.

🔹 Information Dissemination

  • Installation of LED displays at all major points for pilgrim information.

  • In city areas, Municipal Corporation and PWD will handle LED installation.

  • The district administration will provide full funding for these installations.

🔹 Strict Enforcement of Guidelines

  • All yatra-related instructions will be made mandatory under Section 163 BNSS.

This proactive and detailed planning aims to make Char Dham Yatra 2025 a safe and pleasant experience for all pilgrims.
