Chardham Yatra: Green work mandatory for these commercial vehicles
There will be a complete ban on the movement of commercial vehicles on travel routes from 10 pm to 4 am

To ensure safe and smooth transportation during the Char Dham Yatra 2025, Green Cards have been made mandatory for all commercial vehicles with a seating capacity of 13 or more passengers.

For vehicles from other states, the Green Card will be valid for 15 days only.

For vehicles registered in Uttarakhand, it will remain valid throughout the yatra period.
The issuance of Green Cards started today, and 15 vehicle applications have already been received.
Key Transport Guidelines for Char Dham Yatra 2025
1. Green Card Requirement:
Mandatory for commercial vehicles; issued only after technical inspection.
2. Hill Endorsement for Drivers:

Now compulsory for all commercial drivers.

Requires an online application and a practical driving test on hilly routes.

Upon passing, a hill endorsement will be added to the driving license.
3. Safety Measures & Documentation:

Drivers must be trained for hilly terrains.

Vehicles must have valid fitness certificate, insurance, pollution certificate, and permits.

First aid kits and triangular radium boards are mandatory.

Drivers must wear proper shoes/trekking footwear while driving.
4. Night Driving Ban:
To prevent accidents, commercial vehicles are not allowed to operate between 10 PM and 4 AM during the Yatra.
5. Parking Rules:
Vehicles must be parked only at designated safe locations.
According to ARTO (Administration) R.S. Kataria, the initiative is in accordance with Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s directive to ensure a safe pilgrimage experience for all.
