An avalanche has been reported near Mana village in Chamoli, trapping workers of the Border Roads Organization (BRO). The workers were engaged in construction activities near the BRO camp when the incident occurred.

Chamoli District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari has confirmed the incident through a video message, stating that the avalanche took place between Mana and Mana Pass. Reports suggest that 57 BRO workers are trapped under the snow, and so far, 10 have been rescued.

    Rescue and relief operations are in full swing at the avalanche site, with teams from the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Border Roads Organization (BRO), and local administration working tirelessly to save the trapped workers.

    According to the District Magistrate, continuous rainfall and snowfall have made it difficult to deploy helicopter services for the rescue mission. However, authorities are confident that all workers will be rescued soon.

    Meanwhile, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has prayed to Lord Badri Vishal for the safety of the laborers trapped under the snow during the BRO construction work near Mana village in Chamoli district. Expressing his sorrow over the incident, the Chief Minister stated that ITBP, BRO, and other rescue teams are actively carrying out relief and rescue operations.
