Health & Irrigation Schemes: 28 officers appointed for monitoring and investigation, know who is in which district

Officers will visit the districts in seven days and submit a detailed report to the government, negligence will not be tolerated: Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar

Health & Irrigation Schemes:

Dehradun, May 3, 2025 – The Uttarakhand government has taken significant steps to ensure transparency, accountability, and effective implementation in health and irrigation schemes. Under the leadership of Health and Irrigation Secretary Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar, two major initiatives have been launched.

First Initiative: To disseminate information about key health schemes and monitor their implementation, 15 senior officers have been appointed as nodal officers in various districts.

Second Initiative: To assess the progress and ground realities of irrigation schemes, a special inspection team of 13 senior officers has been formed.

These initiatives were undertaken under the guidance of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and decisions made during a Secretariat Committee meeting chaired by the Chief Secretary.

Appointment of 15 Health Nodal Officers

The government aims to ensure that benefits of schemes like the Atal Ayushman Yojana, National Health Mission, and other healthcare services reach every citizen. Fifteen senior officers have been designated as district-level nodal officers. They are tasked with promoting the schemes down to the block level, conducting field inspections, and submitting detailed reports to the government within a week.

  • Dr. Sunita Tamta, Director General – Tehri Garhwal

  • Dr. Ashutosh Sayana, Director – Rudraprayag

  • Dr. Shikha Jangpangi, Director – Uttarkashi

  • Dr. Nursing Gunjiyal, Director – Pithoragarh

  • Dr. Manoj Upreti, Director – Haridwar

  • Dr. Chandra Prakash Tripathi, Director – Champawat

  • Tajbar Singh Jaggi, Additional Commissioner (FDA) – Udham Singh Nagar

  • Dr. Rajeev Pal Singh, Additional Director – Rudraprayag

  • Dr. Manu Jain, Director (NHM) – Champawat

  • Dr. Bindesh Kumar Shukla, Additional Director – Almora

Inspection Team of 13 Officers for Irrigation Schemes

To evaluate the progress, utility, and real-time impact of irrigation projects, an inspection team comprising 13 senior officers has been constituted. They are instructed to visit their assigned districts within a week and submit a detailed report including photos and feedback from beneficiaries.

Statement from the Health & Irrigation Secretary

Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar stated, “The government’s priority is to ensure that all schemes are effectively implemented at the grassroots level and that benefits reach the needy. Continuous monitoring and evaluation are essential. By assigning responsibilities to senior officers, we have created a strong framework for transparency and accountability. Future strategies will be based on the submitted reports, and any negligence at any level will not be tolerated.”
