Srinagar Medical College’s advice, do not ignore blood in urine

The highest number of bladder cancer patients are coming to the OPD of Base Hospital

At the Palliative Care Center operating in the Base Hospital of Government Medical College, Srinagar, cancer specialist and oncology surgeon Dr. Ajit Tiwari conducted an OPD on Monday, providing check-ups and consultations to 15 patients.

Since the initiation of Dr. Tiwari’s OPD at the Base Hospital, around 120 patients have received treatment, while more than 50 patients have been admitted and are undergoing treatment along with follow-ups.

OPD Operated Under Their Leadership

The OPD is being conducted daily under the leadership of Dr. Mohit Kumar, the Nodal and In-charge of the Palliative Care Center, along with JR Dr. Varsha.

What Principal Dr. Ashutosh Sayana Says

The principal of Government Medical College, Dr. Ashutosh Sayana, stated that this initiative will greatly benefit patients in the Garhwal region. He also mentioned that efforts are being made to start OPDs for other specialist doctors soon.

Registration of Base Hospital’s Palliative Care Center

The Palliative Care Center of Base Hospital has been registered under the Central Registry of the Government of India. This registration ensures that comprehensive patient data will be reported to the central government, facilitating better tracking and management of patient information.

Garhwal’s First Government Hospital with a Palliative Care Center

Under the initiative of State Health and Medical Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, the Base Hospital in Garhwal has been designated as the only government hospital in the region with a Palliative Care Center. This center provides care and treatment for patients suffering from cancer and other terminal illnesses.
