This year five children passed the exam, will get scholarship of Rs 12 thousand per year

Five students from the Government Upper Primary School, Majri Grant, in the Doiwala block have successfully passed the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMSS) Exam, Dr. Shivanand Nautiyal Scholarship Exam, and Shri Dev Suman Scholarship Exam 2024. These students will receive a scholarship of ₹12,000 per year from Class 9 to Class 12. This exam is conducted for students of Class 8.
Narendra Sagar, a teacher at the school and the Block President of the Primary Teachers’ Association, Doiwala, stated that students of Government Upper Primary School, Majri Grant have been consistently clearing this scholarship exam for the past eight years. This year, Sameer, Vansh Kumar, Aditya, Kartik, and Kumari Chandrakala have successfully qualified. By passing this exam, these students have brought pride to their school and the village of Majri Grant.
Teacher Narendra Sagar stated that 117 students from Dehradun district have cleared the examination, out of which 29 students are from the Doiwala block, including five students from Majri Grant School.
The scholarship amount will be deposited annually into the students’ accounts. However, to continue receiving the scholarship, students must score more than 55% marks each year in their exams.
The National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) was launched by the Government of India in May 2005. The objective of this scheme is to provide scholarships to talented students from economically weaker sections, helping to reduce the dropout rate after Class 8.
On this occasion, all the villagers expressed their happiness over the achievement of the school and its students.
