AIIMS Rishikesh E-Vehicle Service for Divyangjan
AIIMS Rishikesh, July 7, 2025: On Monday, AIIMS Rishikesh launched a special battery-operated vehicle service to facilitate Divyangjan (persons with disabilities). This initiative will benefit all differently-abled patients who are unable to move independently due to various reasons. Now, they can easily travel between the main gate (Gate No. 3) and the OPD area.
At the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Rishikesh, Divyangjan coming for treatment will now have access to a free e-vehicle service to reach the OPD registration area. On Monday, the institute’s Executive Director, Professor Meenu Singh, flagged off the battery-operated vehicle, inaugurating the service.
On this occasion, Professor Meenu Singh stated that this service would assist all those patients who are unable to walk or face delays in reaching the OPD registration area due to their disability. She added that the service would also save their time and protect them from discomfort caused by sun or rain. She further informed that additional facilities for Divyangjan will be developed within the hospital premises soon.

It is noteworthy that AIIMS already operates battery-operated e-vehicle services for the elderly, critically ill, and other patients in need. Now, the institute has launched this separate battery vehicle service exclusively for Divyangjan. Over 3,000 people visit the AIIMS OPD daily for medical consultation.
On this occasion, several officials including Medical Superintendent Professor B. Satya Shri, Assistant PRO Dr. Shreeloy Mohanty, Chief Private Secretary Vineet Kumar Singh, and Security Officer P.S. Rana were present.
