The Chief Minister informed the Union Minister that Uttarakhand currently has to procure electricity from other states and central pools to meet its power needs. He stated that the Sirkari Byol Rupsiyabagad Hydroelectric Project is the first proposed project on the Gauriganga River. He requested early environmental clearance and approval for the transfer of 29.997 hectares of forest land for this 120 MW capacity project.
