This e-computer kiosk installed near the registry office will save you from land fraud

Dehradun District Magistrate Savin Bansal inaugurated an E-Kiosk near the registry office in the Collectorate premises to protect people from land fraud during property transactions. This is Uttarakhand’s first dedicated E-Kiosk, named “Sachetak”, which will provide free information to buyers about land ownership records registered in revenue accounts.

What the District Magistrate Said

District Magistrate Savin Bansal stated that several land fraud complaints were received through public hearings, multi-purpose camps, and other channels. The primary reason behind such frauds is that buyers often lack prior knowledge of the real ownership of the land.

A state portal already exists for property records, containing all necessary land-related details. However, common people face difficulties accessing the e-registration portal due to a lack of resources and knowledge.

“Our goal was to make this facility easily accessible to the public. After discussions with the Registrar and Stamp Registration authorities, we developed this dedicated kiosk. Now, before heading to the Registrar’s office for land registration, buyers can verify land details for free using this kiosk,” said the District Magistrate.
