The Dehradun district administration has responded to reports regarding the absence of former Chief Minister Harish Rawat’s name from the municipal electoral rolls of Dehradun Municipal Corporation. The administration clarified the matter by presenting an electoral roll, confirming that the former CM’s name is indeed listed in the voter register.
Meanwhile, Garima Mehra Dasouni, the State Spokesperson for Uttarakhand Congress, shared a video on social media in which former Chief Minister Harish Rawat is heard saying that he had voted in the Majra area during the Lok Sabha elections. He mentioned that he also checked the voter list for his current residence. When his name was not found, he informed the Election Commission, and they replied that their server was down and they would check it.
The Dehradun District Information Office released an electoral list and clarified that the information about former Chief Minister Harish Rawat’s name being missing from the voter list is misleading. According to the Nagar Electoral Roll-2024, the names of Harish Rawat and his family members are properly registered in the voter list.

On the other hand, Mahendra Bhatt, the State President of the BJP, said that former Chief Minister Harish Rawat contests elections from so many places that he doesn’t even know where his vote is—whether in a city or a rural area. Bhatt further stated that the level of awareness Harish Rawat has about voting is evident from the fact that on the day of voting, he has to go looking for his vote.
