Uttarakhand higher education: MoU with institutions across the country for research, innovation and skills

Students will get guidance from reputed institutions across the country, will learn the nuances of skill development to digital and future skills

Uttarakhand Higher Education Skill Development Initiative

Dehradun, July 7, 2025:
To make higher education in Uttarakhand more quality-driven, innovative, and employment-oriented, the Department of Higher Education has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with a dozen prestigious academic and technical institutions across the country. Under this initiative, students and teachers in state universities and colleges will be connected to high-quality training and awareness programs.

These MoUs were signed under the leadership of Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, Higher Education Minister of Uttarakhand. The scheme includes training students on various subjects like digital and future skills, soft skills, scientific research, life values, and drug de-addiction awareness. Teachers are also being provided advanced training to improve the overall quality of education.

Partner Institutions and Their Roles:

Some of the major institutions with which the department has signed MoUs include:

  • Infosys Springboard, Bengaluru – for Digital Skills Training

  • Indian Institute of Science (IISC), Bengaluru – for Science Stream Training

  • IIT Kanpur – for Saathi Kendra Program

Other notable collaborations:

  • Vigyanshala, Rohini (New Delhi) – for Kalpana She for STEM program

  • Roots to Roots, Noida – for Art and Indian Cultural Education

  • Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwavidyalaya, Rajasthan – for Drug De-addiction Awareness

  • Mahindra Pride and Naandi Foundation, Hyderabad – for Soft Skills Training

  • NASSCOM – for Digital and Future Skills Training

  • Wadhwani Group, Bengaluru – for Life Skills Courses

  • Tata Group, Mumbai – for Skill Development and Employment

In addition, the department has signed an MoU with Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kerala. This institute will assist students and teachers in research and scientific activities through its Material Science Center and Virtual Labs.
Edunet Foundation, Bengaluru will provide free technical training to students and faculty in higher education institutions.
