1,200 Specialized Sports Volunteers to be Deployed at National Games
The National Federation Sports of India will provide Uttarakhand with these specialized sports volunteers. Additionally, Uttarakhand plans to select approximately 2,300 general volunteers at its own level. These specialized volunteers will be distinct from the general volunteers. However, both categories of volunteers will receive training in behavior and etiquette.
Uttarakhand is hosting the 38th edition of the National Games, which will commence on January 28. Two types of volunteers will contribute to the arrangements. Among these, the recruitment process for general volunteers is currently underway. Over 30,000 people have registered to become volunteers. All of them have undergone online training, and an online exam has also been conducted. Volunteers will be recruited based on the results of this examination.
According to Prashant Arya, Additional Chief Executive Officer of the National Games Secretariat, specialized sports volunteers will also be deployed in addition to general volunteers. These volunteers, provided by the National Federation Sports of India, will be assigned to various locations.
Volunteers with a sports background have experience in national and international competitions. While general volunteers are utilized for tasks such as parking and transportation of guests, specialized volunteers are entrusted with responsibilities directly related to sports arrangements.
Prateek Joshi, who is overseeing volunteer-related work, stated that specialized sports volunteers will receive a daily honorarium of ₹1,000, while the daily honorarium for general volunteers has been set at ₹500.
