Uttarakhand best practices: Departments in Uttarakhand will tell their success stories

Uttarakhand Best Practices:

Dehradun, 8 July 2025: A secretary-level meeting was held in the Secretariat Auditorium under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan. During the meeting, he emphasized the importance of documenting departmental “Best Practices” and “Success Stories.”

The Chief Secretary directed all officials to prepare detailed presentations on their most impactful initiatives (Uttarakhand Best Practices). He highlighted that these best practices should be unique and innovative, ideally not implemented by other states or distinctly different from existing models. These presentations may include achievements at both institutional and individual levels, with the goal of inspiring others towards excellence.

Chief Secretary Bardhan specifically stressed the high potential for best practices in departments like Information Technology (IT), Agriculture, Horticulture, Child Development, Panchayati Raj, Rural Development, Cooperatives, Animal Husbandry, Forest, Education (General, Technical, and Higher), Health, and AYUSH.

Emphasis on Effective Implementation and Digital Transformation
The Chief Secretary underscored the critical need to ensure the effective implementation of various development works, government schemes, and programs to deliver maximum benefit to the public. He also emphasized that departments should carry out most of their operations through online platforms, promoting an open, transparent, seamless, and well-organized system and process.

Assurance of Dignity for Senior Citizens
A key directive from the Chief Secretary was the strict enforcement of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007. He instructed all concerned secretaries and district magistrates to ensure rigorous compliance with this Act. The aim is to guarantee that senior citizens, who are a wealth of knowledge and experience, can live their old age with dignity.

Fanai, and Pradeep Pant; Special Principal Secretary Amit Sinha; and Secretaries Nitesh Kumar Jha, Ravinath Raman, Dr. Pankaj Kumar Pandey, Dr. Ranjit Kumar Sinha, Dr. Sridhar Babu, Chandresh Yadav, Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar, Deependra Kumar Chaudhary, Vinod Kumar Suman, Ranveer Singh Chauhan, and Dheeraj Singh Gabryal, among several other key officials.
