Uttarakhand: There is great enthusiasm among the devotees regarding winter pilgrimage.

Despite the biting cold and snowfall, pilgrims are showing immense enthusiasm for the winter pilgrimage. The sacred palanquins of Baba Kedarnath and Lord Madmaheshwar are enshrined in the Omkareshwar Temple during the winter season. For six months, devotees can offer their prayers to Baba Kedarnath and Lord Madmaheshwar at this temple.

Hundreds of devotees are visiting daily to seek blessings from Baba Kedarnath. On Monday, December 30, 518 devotees had the privilege of visiting Baba Kedarnath.

Similarly, 364 pilgrims visited Lord Badrivishal in Pandukeshwar. In Mukbha, 18 pilgrims visited Gangotri, while eight pilgrims reached Kharsali for Yamunotri. The administration has made all necessary arrangements for the convenience of the devotees, including robust measures to protect them from the cold.

By December 30, a total of 15,314 pilgrims had visited the winter abodes of the Char Dham shrines.

  • Omkareshwar Temple, Ukhimath (Baba Kedarnath’s winter abode): 6,482 pilgrims
  • Pandukeshwar (Lord Badrivishal’s winter abode): 5,104 pilgrims
  • Mukhba (Gangotri’s winter abode): 3,114 pilgrims
  • Kharsali (Yamunotri’s winter abode): 614 pilgrims

The winter pilgrimage continues to attract devotees, reaffirming their faith despite the harsh weather conditions.
