Uttarakhand’s budget crosses one lakh crore, special attention to these things

This time's budget is 24 times more than the first budget of Uttarakhand state: CM

Uttarakhand Finance Minister Premchand Aggarwal has presented the budget in the Assembly.

The budget for the financial year 2025-26 presented in the Assembly amounts to ₹1,01,175.33 crore, which is 13.38% higher than the previous year’s (2024-25) budget.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami stated that this budget focuses on the development of education, rural development, infrastructure, healthcare, industry, and other sectors.

After the budget presentation in the Assembly, Chief Minister Dhami, in a formal conversation with the media, called the budget historic in Uttarakhand’s silver jubilee year and congratulated the Finance Minister and the entire team.

The Chief Minister noted that in the silver jubilee year of the state’s formation, the budget size has crossed ₹1 lakh crore.

Compared to the previous budget, this year’s budget has seen a 13% increase.

This budget is 24 times larger than Uttarakhand’s first-ever budget.

The budget has been designed with a focus on ecology, economy, innovation, inclusiveness, sustainable development, technology, and accountability.

He mentioned that various new initiatives have been included in the budget, such as:

  • Riverfront Development Project
  • Formation of the Migrant Uttarakhand Council
  • Operation of Electric Buses under the Smart City Project
  • Establishment of a Sports University
  • Creation of a Home Guard Welfare Fund
  • Establishment of a Revolving Fund to Boost Police Personnel Morale

The Chief Minister stated that this budget follows the “NAMO” theme, which stands for:

  • Innovation (Navachar)
  • Self-reliant Uttarakhand (Aatmanirbhar Uttarakhand)
  • Great Heritage (Mahan Virasat)
  • Vigorous Human Resources (Ojasvi Manav Sansadhan)

Additionally, the budget prioritizes inclusive and holistic development under the theme “GYAAN”, which stands for:

  • Welfare of the Poor (Gareeb Kalyan)
  • Youth (Yuva)
  • Farmers (Annadata)
  • Women Welfare (Naari Kalyan)

The state government has also emphasized financial management in this budget.

He stated that efforts will be made to increase the state’s revenue through its own resources.

The budget places special focus on the development of education, rural development, infrastructure, healthcare, and industry.

The Chief Minister emphasized that this budget aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas” (Collective Effort, Inclusive Growth, Trust of All, and Participation of All).
