Negligence Will Be Accountable to Medical College MS or Principal: Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar

Dehradun: The Uttarakhand Health Department has directed all hospitals to remain on alert during New Year celebrations. Health Secretary Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar instructed government medical colleges and hospitals to strengthen emergency medical management. A new set of guidelines (SOP) for emergency management has been issued, and all hospitals have been directed to comply with these protocols.

Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar emphasized improving emergency management systems in all hospitals, particularly during the New Year festivities and the winter Char Dham pilgrimage.

A meeting was convened with principals of government medical colleges to discuss emergency preparedness. Key topics included triage for rapid patient assessment, clinical protocols, documentation, and quality assurance.

Under the emergency management protocol, critical patients must receive treatment within 10 minutes of arrival. Dr. Kumar stated that negligence in this regard would hold the respective Medical Superintendent (MS) or Principal of the concerned medical college accountable.

The health department aims to ensure better preparedness to handle emergencies efficiently during this busy period.
