Instructions to increase security arrangements in Uttarakhand, keep a close watch on suspicious activities and rumours

Security Directives Issued by Chief Minister Dhami
Dehradun, May 7, 2025 – After attending a virtual meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a high-level meeting with senior officials at the Chief Minister’s residence on Wednesday. In light of the current international border conditions, the Chief Minister instructed authorities to make special security arrangements for the Char Dham Yatra, key national establishments, dams, and energy plants located in Uttarakhand. He directed the administration and police to remain on alert mode.

Robust security arrangements must be made in all areas of the state bordering international borders.

Suspicious activities in border areas should be closely monitored.

Tight security should be ensured on all Char Dham routes and locations.

Necessary measures should be taken to safeguard nationally important institutions.

Supplies of food grains and essential items must be ensured at district and tehsil levels in case of emergencies.

Hospitals must remain on alert for emergency situations.

Adequate stock of all essential medicines must be maintained.

Civil defense teams and volunteer organizations should be trained for rescue and relief operations.

Strict action should be taken against those spreading rumors; social media must be continuously monitored.

Except in unavoidable circumstances, staff leave should not be approved.

District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police should review the security arrangements in their respective districts.
The Chief Minister emphasized that Uttarakhand hosts several establishments of national significance and their security must be prioritized. He urged that verified and accurate information be provided to the public to avoid panic or misinformation. Authorities were also instructed to ensure clear communication and keep citizens away from rumors through continuous monitoring of social media platforms.

The Chief Minister appealed to the people to maintain peace and assured that the administration is fully prepared to offer all necessary assistance. He expressed special gratitude to Union Home Minister Amit Shah for providing additional central security forces for the Char Dham Yatra.
