The sacred portals of Shri Badrinath Dham were opened for the summer season at 6:00 AM on Sunday, amid the chanting of Vedic mantras and traditional rituals. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami performed the first Mahabhishek Puja in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, praying for the prosperity and well-being of the nation and the state.
The Chief Minister also offered prayers at the Lakshmi Temple, Ganesh Temple, the seat of Adi Guru Shankaracharya, and all other temples within the temple complex. He welcomed the pilgrims and devotees present in Badrinath (Badrinath Dham Yatra 2025) and gathered feedback regarding the pilgrimage arrangements.
The Chief Minister stated that the state government has made comprehensive efforts to ensure the smooth conduct of the Char Dham Yatra and to enhance facilities for pilgrims. He appealed to all devotees visiting Devbhoomi Uttarakhand to fully cooperate in maintaining a green and clean Char Dham Yatra.
He reviewed the ongoing construction works near the temple while receiving detailed information about the Badrinath Dham Master Plan from Chamoli District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari.

He instructed the District Magistrate to ensure the completion of Master Plan works on time with quality. Expressing satisfaction with the travel arrangements at Badrinath Dham, the Chief Minister directed the District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police to make robust arrangements for the safety and comfort of pilgrims.
He also reviewed the preparations for the Shri Hemkund Sahib Yatra and instructed for early arrangements for pilgrim facilities. Additionally, he inquired about the construction of the bridge over the Alaknanda River at Govindghat and directed the District Magistrate to complete the bridge with quality before the yatra after a site inspection.
Present on the occasion were Rajya Sabha MP and BJP State President Mahendra Bhatt, Jyotish Peeth Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati Maharaj, MLA Lakhpat Butola, newly appointed BKTC Vice President Vijay Kaparwan and Rishi Prasad Sati, BKTC Chief Executive Officer Vijay Thapliyal, and Dharmadhikari Radhakrishna Thapliyal among others.
