Solution to Water Problems

Kolkata-based Vikram Solar has partnered with Israel’s Watergen to address the issue of safe and potable water through the development of a water harvester machine. Both companies have signed an agreement to create a joint venture for manufacturing solar-powered machines using Israeli technology, which is well-suited to Indian conditions. This technology is especially relevant for countries like India, where a significant portion of the population lacks access to safe and clean drinking water.

Maor Zrahiahu, Business Development Officer at Watergen, said, “We are actively working to finalize the joint venture. We expect the deal to progress in the coming days.” While he did not divulge many details, he mentioned that this unique water solution technology will be designed to minimize energy consumption and reduce costs. This will help people in remote areas access potable water easily by harnessing natural resources like air and humidity.

The technology will include:

  • A small device capable of generating 20 liters of water daily for household use.
  • A medium-sized device producing 450 liters of water daily.
  • A large device capable of generating up to 3,000 liters of water daily.

This innovation could provide a sustainable solution to the water crisis, especially in underserved and remote regions.
